Critical Illness

Critical Illness

Prevention + Benefit

You already understand the importance of financial protection in the event of Critical Illness. You use the advantages of a protection with a refund of premiums. To make sure our product remains among the best on the market, here are a few new benefits that you can offer your clients:

Two new medical conditions added

TRANSITION and TRANSITION EVOLUTION now cover twenty-three (23) medical conditions and illnesses.

Two new heart diseases are added:

New benefit: PREVENTION +

The PREVENTION + benefit provides for the payment of an indemnity for 3 exclusions related to cancer as well as coronary angioplasty, an alternative to heart surgery.

The partial benefit paid is 10% of the current face amount (maximum $50,000.00). This benefit is payable once for each of the 4 medical conditions listed below. The payment of a partial benefit does not terminate the contract but results in a decrease in the face amount.

It is important to remember that these 4 medical conditions were previously exclusions to the contract, due to the fact that when they are detected at an early stage, they do not put the patient's life in danger, and were therefore not considered to be critical illnesses.

The four medical conditions covered by the PREVENTION + benefits are:

Coronary Angioplasty: interventional procedure that is increasingly used to unblock and widen a vessel that supplies blood to the heart. Angioplasties are being performed more and more often rather than surgery.

Malignant melanoma (skin cancer) into the dermis equal to or lower than a depth of 1.0 mm.

Stage A prostate cancer

Cancer in situ of the breast: The term "in situ" means that the illness is not yet in the life threatening stage.

More complete protection
The Accidental Fracture benefit is now available for the critical illness products.

Definition of Illness
Adjustments and specifications have been made to the definitions of certain covered critical illnesses.

An inevitable increase in premiums
Substantial rate increases for this type of guaranteed premium protection have been widely publicized in the last year.

In spite of everything, Transition is still among the best products on the market with the same winning features, such as the flexible refund of premiums on the T100 starting in the 10th year.
